I had a “Port-a-Cath” installed in my shoulder/chest area on Thurs 7/19 – and it was being used already on Sat. 7/21 for my first round of chemo. Why the “Power Port“? With so many injections and tests over the next 4-6 months, it just is easier, more effective and less risky. No IVs, on pincushion arms. Really works like a charm.
Check it out (WARNING: SQUEAMISH FOLKS USE DISCRETION):
recognize this?
(Tess thought this is what I was getting)
OK, it’s not exactly like that. It’s a fast-track into the cuisineheart to mix and distribute whatever I need.
Still red, but will clear up and be nearly invisible. They say this is the safest most effective way to get the stuff they need to in/out. The chemo cocktail is so toxic that if it leaks into/onto your tissue (rather than going into your blood) it can damage it permanently!

If it spoke it would say, “Bring it!”
