First evidence: feeling better == getting better. I have received the results of the full-body PET scan I had Monday showing the difference from before I started chemo (now that 2 R-CHOP cycles are done). Here is an excerpt from the contrast-enhanced images (that show higher metabolic activity of cancer cells vs. normal cells) and the radiologist’s report. You don’t have to be an expert to see the difference – no more Dalmatian Guts! But this is worth a thousand+ words (click pic to enlarge):
Looking at that, it is tempting to back off on the aggressive approach (changing from R-CHOP to R-EPOCH and doing the Intrathecal Methatrexate as prevention against central nervous system relapse…which has given me the pleasure of my first spinal headache today), but since I have a pretty high chance of relapse with my sub-type of Lymphoma, I will proceed to clean house!
