The Honeymoon is over

After being lulled into a false sense of this-is-not-so-bad by the first few days of Chemo, Saturday’s chemo hit like a ton of bricks. Fever, shakes, chills, nausea, vomit, all the chemo side effects you’ve heard of. The honeymoon is over, and this Chemo is truly a nasty bitch with a vengeful streak.

Cliff got his last mega-dose today along with a whole new bouquet of nasty chemo side effects. But as sick as this Chemo is making Cliff, it’s also doing its job killing the cancer cells. That’s the good news.

Tomorrow is a rest day before he gets his Stems Cells back on Wednesday. After that, his blood counts will continue to decline from the Chemo, and he may have a few more bad days, until the Stem Cells “engraft” and begin to produce new blood cells. Then we’ll be on the path to recovery.

Thanks for being there.

love,

Tracey

What’s going on? CLIFF, you’re on my mind! Give those cancer cells the Hannel treatment, tackle them, destroy them, … then grow some hair on your head so the next time we eat out you don’t look like a thug πŸ™‚
