Lock Up: Day + 7

THE UPDATE

All is proceeding as expected (a good thing):

  • Blood counts are bottoming out: this is the long-tail of the chemo killing off the old, bad guys. Keeps me tired, means I can’t leave the room.  I’ve had a few transfusions to keep red blood cells, platelets at minimum levels.  Thanks again to all you donors!
  • The Stem cells are coming: within a few days, we expect the white blood cell (WBC) count to start increasing – this will mean the stem cells are working!
  • I’m Outa Here: Once the WBC count gets high enough and I seem to be able to function on my own, I’ll be out of here. We expect that will be 6-12 more days.

THE MUSING

Don’t get your hopes up, gang.  Chemo even limits Musing.  I will say this: it is great getting calls and visits to help pass the time. And passing the time is the challenge now (other than just healing without contracting any infections).

So glad things are progressing as planned! Though for the record, I didn’t provide GoT! I also haven’t seen it. 🙂
You know me, I sent Star Trek crap. 🙂
