THE UPDATE
When the marrow gets to work, and the Neupogen puts it into overdrive, it swells. The marrow swells inside your big, blood-cell-producing-bones. It aches, and that’s the aching that I’ve been longing for. My white blood cell count went from 0.1 (effectively zero, they don’t like to write numbers lower than that) for nearly a week to 0.3 on Saturday and now 1.9 today (Sunday). It is clear: my stem cells are back where they belong and doing what they are intended to do! I should be breaking out of my room to roam the floor today and, with any luck, be home by the end of the week!
THE MUSING
You think I can think of anything other than what I just wrote above? Think again. Uh, why can’t I go home today?
